                        COV WORK DAY REPORT

I am so grateful for everyone's enthusiastic participation and hard work Saturday.  We had fifteen people roll you their sleeves and accomplish a great deal.

Here is what we did:

Bonnie Singer painted the new exterior door on the Meals on Wheels room. It was replaced earlier in the week after being damaged by the wind.

Dennis Moore completed the work on the reinforcing steel for the cross footing.

Dennis then moved over to help Jason, Lena, and Joel with the work on the planters along Standing Rock Rd.  Several people have mentioned how nice it looks with colored rock.

Leonard brought his water truck and skip loader and loaded all the construction debris from the masonry work into a dump truck.  He also moved all the surplus materials into the compound and hauled the excess dirt from the planters to the east parking lot.  He efforts have been noticed and I have had several people comment on how nice the area now looks.

Leonard then washed the parking lot with water donated by the Apple Valley Ranchos Water Co.

John Browning & Clay worked on the drywall repair in room 2 and Mr. Yi cleaned the planters around the Sanctuary, as well as the rose garden.

Jeff Luther tackled the invasive Chinese Elm.  He came up with a permanent solution.  He cut the new sprouts off short and treated them with Roundup.  That should keep them from coming back!  Jeff also removed all the new suckers sprouting from the fruitless plumb trees in the east parking lot.  He then moved on to help with the planters on Standing Rock.

Craig HendersonDennis Pond and Jeff H. replaced the cooler  and fixed the fan for the exhaust hood in the Korean Kitchen, as well as,  repaired the cooler in the Korean Church.

Craig then discovered a mysteriously damaged electrical line service the parking lot light behind the Sanctuary.  No on knows how it happened but we are confident that Craig is up to the challenge of the repair.

Things are shaping up and it is all because of your efforts and sacrifice.  Thank you all and may God bless you and your families.
