What We Believe

 

Who we are and what we believe:

We are the Heart of the Valley where we love God, each other and our neighbors  in Christ’s love.

The 5 COV Biblical Foundations

Worship (Magnification):  Loving the Lord our God with all our heart, spirit, mind and strength as directed by New Testament teaching about worship and with active participation in worship by all.

John 4:23 (NIV) Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

Fellowship (Membership):  Loving each other deeply as brothers and sisters in the Family of Christ to overcome isolation and loneliness with encouragement and compassion.

Ephesians 2:19 (NIV) Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and aliens, but fellow citizens with Gods people and members of Gods household…”

Discipleship (Maturity):  Learning together through an integrated life maturity process to mature in Christ-like character through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Ephesians 4:13,15 (NIV) “…until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of ChristInstead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ.

Service (Ministry):  Meeting the needs of the family of Christ with love through sharing in the opportunities for everyone to serve as God has gifted each one.

Romans 12:5-6 (NIV) “…so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given us.

Outreach (Mission):  Sharing the good news about Jesus Christ through our words and actions with our neighbors locally, regionally and throughout the world.
