Important Information

Welcome to Church of the Valley

THIS SUNDAY AT CHURCH OF THE VALLEY: as we continue to discuss the end times, we hear of the strength available to those who go through the great trials and difficulties of that time. Pastor Mike’s message “Washed in the Blood of the Lamb” from Revelation 7:9-17 shows us what we need to know to follow Jesus through tough situations today and in the times to come. The Lord promises to secure and sure victory for the present and the future of His followers.

NEXT SUNDAY IN WORSHIP: Pastor Becky will bring the Bible message titled “The Lost Art of Blessing” from Numbers 6:22-27.  In Romans 12:14 the Apostle Paul commands us to “bless and do not curse.”  What does cursing look like today? How do we bless the people in our lives today? Using the “Priestly Blessing” found in Numbers 6 as our pattern, we will seek to explore and recover the “The Lost Art of Blessing” for our lives today.

WEDNESDAY IN THE WORD does not meet this week Wednesday, July 23 because Pastor Mike is away on Study leave beginning tomorrow. Join us again on Wednesday, July 30 as we continue to examine 1 Corinthians 15 and the new eternal bodies followers of Christ will enjoy in the Kingdom of God.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY is looking for volunteers to help as we lead the kids on an exciting island treasure hunt. The program is called Treasure Seekers and we will be learning about the attributes of God. We will provide you all the material you need and you do not have to sign up for the whole session, just pick the dates your able to help out this summer for Sunday school. Sunday summer school starts Sunday,
June 29 to Sunday, August 31 during the 10:30 AM Worship Service. Contact Kim at 760-247-6494 ext. 230

COLLEGE/CAREER GROUP: We’ve started a new study! Please join us Monday, June 9 at 6:30 PM as we explore the book “Eternity In Their Hearts” by Don Richardson. This is a fascinating look into the ways God has planted seeds of truth in ancient cultures all over the world, to prepare them ahead of time to
understand His plan of eternal salvation through Christ. We also spend time each week talking about the challenges and joys we experience in our walk with and witness for Christ.

OUT REACH PROJECTS: First we need volunteers to help us feed the homeless on Fridays with another group. Second we are doing a backpack give away, at the end of the month Saturday, July 25. we will need school supplies and backpacks donated to help the children who can not afford them. You may still bring in canned food to help out Crisis Ministries.
If your interested in either of these projects and would like more information look for the Out Reach sign.

RUMMAGE SORTING DATE: Monday, July 21 from 8:30 to 12:00 noon.  Please mark your calendar!   Please bring any clean useable items at this time.  If you have large bulky items, please call the church office at 760) 247-6494 to schedule a pick-up. We are always in need of additional workers either in Hansen Hall or men to help unload the trailer when it arrives.  Please pray about donating your time to help do God’s work for the least of these.  Isn’t it time to let go of those items you haven’t used in at least a year?  Hope to see you!

Verse of the Day

English Standard Version Bible Daily Verse - Colossians 3:9-10
Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge after the image of its creator.
